A nonprofit group is merging into the World Trade Center St. Louis to become part of its Mosaic Project, which informs the community about the impact that a foreign-born population can make for the region’s overall growth.

International Mentoring St. Louis expects to transfer its funds around the end of the year to the World Trade Center St. Louis, a brand name for the nonprofit group which is the international division of the St. Louis Economic Development Partnership.

At the end of 2023, International Mentoring St. Louis had a fund balance of $268,900, according to its Form 990 filed with the Internal Revenue Service. The nonprofit group will be dissolved, said co-founder Annie Schlafly.

Founded in 2017 with initial in-kind support from the Mosaic Project, the mission of International Mentoring St. Louis has been to connect foreign-born women who move to the St. Louis area with their families – either from another country or region of the United States – with St. Louisans. Schlafly said in many cases, husbands are employed by companies in the region and their wives need information and support to acclimate to their new home. New arrivals have worked for several area companies including Bayer AG, Bunge (NYSE: BG), The Boeing Co. (NYSE: BA) and Nestle Purina PetCare Co. Schlafly said the mentoring group has matched 790 mentors and mentees from 85 countries through its program. Keep reading here.
