Yemeni-style coffee shop Mocha Point targets spring opening at City Foundry

By KSDK

The shop will seat three times as many customers as its St. Charles location.

ST. LOUIS — Yemeni coffee shop Mocha Point will open its first location in St. Louis' Midtown neighborhood later this year.

Mocha Point is targeting a spring opening for its new space on the ground floor of One Foundry Way, a $96 million apartment tower at 3835 Foundry Way that opened in 2024.

The small business is owned by Sarem Othman and his brother Addel Othman. Their father also helps run the firm, which in 2024 opened its first location at 343 Main St. in St. Charles.

Sarem Othman said Mocha Point was born out of a desire to create a space that fosters community and shares traditional late-night Middle Eastern coffee culture.

"I'm trying to bring back the aspect of staying up and doing greatness, whether it's studying or talking about different ideas, you can even enjoy yourself, as long as it's an environment where goodness happens," Sarem Othman said.
