St. Louis Mosaic Project Celebrates Welcoming Week Organization re-launches Mosaic Stories

ree

ST. LOUIS (Sept. 12, 2025) – From September 12-21, 2025, the St. Louis Mosaic Project (Mosaic Project), a regional initiative within St. Louis Economic Development Partnership and World Trade Center St. Louis, will celebrate Welcoming Week, an annual campaign that invites communities around the globe to host events that deepen understanding and connection among community members. For Welcoming Week this year, the Mosaic Project will re-launch Mosaic Stories, a monthly video series that brings together the voices of St. Louis natives and foreign-born immigrants to celebrate diversity, connection and shared experiences.

Through these interviews, immigrants and long-time St. Louisans share their personal journeys, highlighting both the unique experiences and common threads that strengthen our region. These conversations will be featured on the Mosaic Project’s website and social media platforms.

According to the U.S. Census, the growth of the region continues to come from foreign-born individuals and their families, so it’s paramount that newcomers are aware of all the resources available to help them put down deep roots and learn to love their new hometown.

“When we share our stories—of challenges faced and connections, we affirm that no one carries their journey alone,” said Suzanne Sierra, executive director of the Mosaic Project. “Each experience adds strength to the larger fabric of community, showing that the growth of one person enriches us all.”

The Mosaic Project invites others to be part of this project. People can sign up to share their own story, volunteer to interview someone else or do both here. Each video, including the first conversation between Sierra and Mosaic Project Program Manager Annie Mbale can be found at stlmosaicproject.org/mosaicstories.
