St. Louis Continues to Drop in Population, But the Loss is Slowing

St. Louis Post-Dispatch - March 27, 2014

St. Louis city continues to lose population but is doing so at a much slower rate than a decade ago.

Since 2010, the city has lost about 300 residents a year. As Jeff Rainford, chief of staff for Mayor Francis Slay said, that is nothing to celebrate.

But there is reason for city leaders to think the worst is over, considering that from 2000 to 2010, the city averaged a loss of nearly 2,900 residents a year.
