SLUH Politics Speaker Series Feat. Betsy Cohen & STL Mosaic: Moving St. Louis Into the Future

Politicus Bonus Tracto - Dec 24, 2014

The futuristic drawing above named “A Forecast” was first featured in the St. Louis Christmas Magazine in 1910. The picture shows Olive Street in Downtown St. Louis, with skyscrapers flanking the wide street, which is empty besides pedestrians on the sidewalks and what looks like buses in the street. At the front of the street features a plaza with columns with eagles on top, and large stone lions laying down, both looking over a canal with gondolas. The other method of transportation in the picture, blimps congregate in the sky.
