FAQ's

What does the St. Louis Mosaic Project do?

When the St. Louis Mosaic Project was established in 2013, our goal was to transform
St. Louis into one of the fastest growing major metropolitan area for immigration by 2025. In September 2024, that goal was achieved in collaboration with many partners around the region. In 2025, a new goal was established: to maintain St. Louis' #1 rank for foreign-born growth by 2030 and to drive initiatives that expand global talent as one of the cornerstones for regional economic growth. We do this by collaborating with businesses, universities, k-12 schools and other non-profit organizations to create an environment that embraces and supports an international community, leading to increased economic growth, innovation, and overall prosperity for the St. Louis region.

Do you work with refugees?

Through our Professional Connector Program, we help guide many of these refugees toward meaningful work that matches their career experience from their home country. The comprehensive work of resettling refugees who arrive in St. Louis is done by the region's resettlement agency, the International Institute.

Do you help people obtain work visas or any kind of visas?

The St. Louis Mosaic Project is not staffed with immigration attorneys but we gladly refer those who need assistance with Visas to several local immigration attorneys.

Are you part of the International Institute?

The St. Louis Mosaic Project is an organization separate from the International Institute of St. Louis, though we collaborate closely on initiatives that help New Americans integrate into life in St. Louis.

How Are You Funded?

The Mosaic Project is an initiative of the nonprofit World Trade Center-St. Louis and managed by the St. Louis Economic Development Partnership. The Mosaic Project is funded by a donations, grants, and private contributions.

Are you a lobbying organization?
We are part of the nonprofit World Trade Center-St. Louis managed by the St. Louis Economic Development Partnership, the economic development agency for St. Louis City and County. We function as a marketing arm for the region, to create awareness and understanding about how an international, global community can strengthen the economy. We do not operate as an advocacy or lobbying organization.
