Global Talent. Local Impact

The St. Louis region is home to thousands of highly educated international professionals and students who are already authorized to work in the United States. They bring skills in engineering, technology, healthcare, research, finance, and other high-demand fields. Many are eager to gain experience with U.S. companies and contribute their expertise locally.  Through the International Hiring Challenge, Mosaic invites employers to connect with this global talent pool—whether through internships, project-based assignments, or full-time roles.

The challenge

Many companies assume hiring international talent is complicated. In reality, many candidates already have work authorization through Optional Practical Training (OPT), or other immigration pathways. Additional sponsorship is not required.

The International Hiring Challenge helps employers tap into a hidden talent pool.

We invite 15 businesses from the City and 15 from the County to participate by offering international talent:

•         Paid internships

•         Project-based assignments

•         Full-time positions

Why participate

  • Access to highly educated global talent

  • A simple, low-barrier way to pilot            international hiring

  • Guidance on work authorization questions

  • The opportunity to retain skilled              professionals in St. Louis

How To Participate

  • Submit a job or project description          including pay and time frame

  • Mosaic distributes the opportunity          through university int'l offices & global    talent networks

  • Candidates then apply directly to the      company

Hires will participate in two virtual cohort sessions organized by Mosaic to learn about:

  • The region's civic landscape

  • Nuances of American work culture

  • Community & professional resources

Participating hires will also:

  • Attend the World Trade Center -St. Louis  "Growing Global" international business luncheon in September

  • Meet the St. Louis City Mayor and County Executive
