This year's edition brings together 50 new artist commissions and historical reinterpretations exploring themes of migration, climate and identity, As St. Louis Public Radio reports, it has grown from grassroots beginnings in 2019 into one of the nation's largest public art showcases. The free triennial kicks off with a grand opening celebration Thu., Sept. 10 at Powell Hall, featuring the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra performing the score to artist Alice Bucknell's Coyote Time video game and continues through December with sites across the city from City Museum to the Contemporary Art Museum. Free and open to all, it's a rare, months-long invitation for locals and visitors alike to experience St. Louis as a canvas for bold ideas
