St. Louis Performances March 12, 2017

Arts & Faith St. Louis, in collaboration with John Burroughs School will present a performances of The Cave at Burroughs on Sunday, March 12, 2017 at 2 p.m.

The Cave is a compelling multimedia opera with video by Beryl Korot and music by Steve Reich. It features recorded interviews set to live music. Palestinians, Israelis and Americans were invited in the early 1990s to respond from their Muslim, Jewish and secular perspectives about the importance of the story of Abraham and his burial place, The Cave of Machpelah in Hebron. It is a place held sacred by Jews, Muslims and Christians.

The Cave has an inspirational message that promotes interfaith understanding and goodwill.

Alarm Will Sound, an internationally acclaimed new music ensemble, will perform. People of all faiths and backgrounds will experience this piece together.
