In the late 1940s a young engineer named William Tao arrived in St. Louis to pursue graduate studies at Washington University in St. Louis. Over the next half century and beyond, “Bill” and Anne Tao made an indelible imprint on the greater St. Louis community through their company, William Tao & Associates; by mentoring and advocating for the St. Louis Chinese community; and through their civic philanthropy. Join the Taos’ son, Peter Tao, as he shares the story his father’s journey from northern China and how he helped shape St. Louis’s physical and cultural landscape.
