War and political turmoil result in millions of people being displaced around the world. The trauma of building a new life, in a new culture, is always challenging. In the 1990’s, tens-of-thousands of Bosnian refugees built a new community in Saint Louis. Since that time, the region established the Saint Louis Mosaic Project taking a proactive approach to attracting refugees to invigorate the economy in our region. Mosaic’s key partner is the International Institute – celebrating its centennial year – providing immigrant integration services.

Please join us to learn more about St. Louis’s current challenges of supporting refugees from two war-torn countries: Afghanistan and Ukraine.

We are excited to offer this program in person, to include a sampling of Afghan cuisine prepared by Afghan refugees through the catering services of Welcome Neighbor STL. The cost to attend is $30 per person, to cover the cost of the food.  If you cannot join us in person, attendance through Zoom will also be provided.

This webinar, and in-person presentation, will educate you on the challenges of developing services to support refugees coming from two war-torn countries: Afghanistan and Ukraine.
