PDI Workshop: Supporting DACA Students Pursuing Postsecondary Education

Students who are Deferred Action for Childhood Arrival (DACA) status navigate a complicated maze to access a college education. This workshop will focus on counseling strategies to support students with DACA status given recent changes to Missouri law. Participants will 1) gain an understanding of DACA from the legal perspective as well as from students with DACA status; 2) learn about current Missouri law and its impact on Missouri students; and 3) discuss effective strategies for counseling students. Participants will leave with identified action steps they can take to better support DACA students.

Lunch discussion will be facilitated by the St. Louis Mosaic Project, The Scholarship Foundation of St. Louis, and other partner organizations
