Featuring more than 70 artworks by 50 artists, “African Modernism in America” examines the connections between African artists and US patrons, artists, and cultural organizations, amid the interlocking histories of civil rights, decolonization, and the Cold War. The exhibition opens March 10, with a panel discussion at 5:30 p.m. and public celebration at 6:30 p.m.
